Donate Funds to the Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry

Your gift will immediately fight hunger in our community and help to also provide the critical human services those struggling with hunger may need to get through difficult times. You may make an unrestricted gift to the Pantry or choose to designate your gift to our Fresh Produce Initiative.

Thank you for your generosity.

Donation Options:

Single Gift

We’ll help as many people as possible with your gift. Select Food Pantry Annual or Fresh Produce Initiative in the Donation drop-down menu on the Donate page.

Recurring Gift

Knowing we can count on your contribution helps us budget for the many services we provide to those who are struggling. Our monthly giving program consists of a compassionate group of supporters who make a scheduled gift each month. Click the Recurring Gift option on the Donate page.

Tribute Gifts

There's no better way to honor, remember or recognize someone special. We'll send a personalized card acknowledging your thoughtfulness. Select Food Pantry Tribute in the Donation drop-down menu option on the Donate page and be sure to enter all tribute information (tribute message/signature, name and address where tribute should be sent).

Food Basket Centerpieces

Rent our food basket centerpieces and bima baskets in lieu of flowers for bar and bat mitzvahs and other special occasions. Click here for more information and order form.

In-Kind Donations

The Pantry welcomes donations of nonperishable food and personal care items. Refer to our Pantry Shopping List to see what items we need most. Whether you bring a box of groceries to the Pantry; organize a food drive in your workplace, place of worship or community group; ask your friends to make a donation to the Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry in lieu of a birthday gift or in honor of a special occasion; or drop a few cans in one of our Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry collection barrels, you can know your donation is put to immediate use feeding the hungry in our community. Click here to contact us or for directions to the Pantry.

Stock Gifts & Securities

Donating appreciated securities (stocks, bonds or mutual funds you've held for more than one year) is typically an excellent way to reduce or avoid capital gains taxes and receive a federal income tax charitable deduction. Click here for our stock gift information sheet.

Planned Gifts

Create a legacy to end hunger in our community. Establish an endowment or make a charitable bequest to help ensure we may continue to provide food and supportive services to our community’s most vulnerable members. Contact our development officer at 412.422.7200 for more information.

The Squirrel Hill Community Food Pantry is a division of Jewish Family & Children’s Service, a 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions are deductible under section 170 of the IRS Code.

What do we need this month?
March is our time to prepare for Passover distribution, and we ask that you support this effort by donating kosher for Passover foods. We provide our clients with the Seder staples, but any other foods that you enjoy during Passover are welcome donations. Not sure what else the Pantry needs? Refer to our Pantry Shopping List.
